Over the years, Maude Garrett has been a fan of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Maude always kept a place for Butcher in our book club because she loved the author.

After reading Dark Matter, there’s no way we couldn’t read Recursion with our book club. Blake Crouch is an excellent sci-fi/mystery writer. His novels are complex and thought-provoking.

Maude Garrett has had The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin on her TBR for a very long time. The Broken Earth series is regarded as one of the best series in the fantasy genre. So, of course, we would cover it for our BOOK OF THE MONTH!

Maude Garrett has been on the Rebecca Roanhorse train for a while and last year the community enjoyed Fevered Star. MBC has waited for the cover reveal of Mirrored Heavens and now we will continue the series for our Book Club in July!

Bonus Book of the Month Preview: ‘Recursion’ by Blake Crouch
Maude Garrett has been such a fan of Blake Crouch and has inspired many of our community members to read his novels. He is one of the sci-fi greats and for July we will be reading Recursion.
After reading Dark Matter, which is now a series on Apple TV Plus, you will want to read everything he has ever written. Crouch can break down complex ideas and have them toy with your reality. It’s brilliant writing, and Maude is thrilled to bring the world of Crouch to our book club.

Our BOOK OF THE MONTH is The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.
This is known as one of the best fantasy books of all time. It is a daunting book because of how thick it is, but over two months Maude Garrett and our wonderful community finished it together. It’s an accomplishment to read a book of this length that has been on everyone’s TBRs for years.
We have some recommendations if you have a void after reading The Way of Kings or are looking for something similar without picking this book up!
5 Reasons Audiobooks Are A Valid Form of Reading
On my days off from my full-time job, I try my best to read for full days (while taking breaks of course) and it has been so rewarding. Even evenings have been peaceful because I light a candle, get my tea and read for the rest of the night. I have become an avid reader thanks to Maude’s Book Club. Whether it’s a hardcover, paperback or even on my Kindle beside me, I’m always looking for my next read.
You may be wondering where audiobooks come in and I’m about to tell you that they have changed my life. If you didn’t know, Maude swears by audiobooks as a valid form of reading. And, admittedly, at first, I didn’t think audiobooks would work for me.
