Book of the Month: ‘Fugitive Telemetry’ by Martha Wells
One of Maude Garrett’s favourite authors is Martha Wells. We have been reading the Murderbot Diaries for a while now, and Maude has even interviewed Wells herself.
The BOOK OF THE MONTH for December is Fugitive Telemetry—the sixth book of the Murderbot Diaries.

It’s almost the end of the year, and it has been a wonderful year because it has been filled with books. The Goodreads Choice Awards have begun, and their opening round is officially open for voting. They cover each genre, but here at MBC, our focus is fantasy and science fiction. Fortunately, those genres flourished this year because of some incredible new releases.
Chris Edgerly has a Kickstarter for the sequel to ‘Soldier of Ages’
Chris Edgerly returns with a sequel to Soldier of Ages titled, Soldier of Ages: Battle of the Bulge. The news went live this Monday that Edgerly would have a Kickstarter to help fund this new project.
Bonus Book of the Month: ‘The Last Unicorn’ by Peter S. Beagle
Maude Garrett and the MBC community love our BONUS BOOKS!
Not only do we continue reading a series we enjoyed, but we also test the waters for other acclaimed novels. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle has been on everyone’s TBR for a while.
Since it has been dubbed one of the best fantasy novels of all time, we needed to add it to our yearly list. Whether you’re new to our book club or have been with us for a while, you know how much we love finding a new series!
Book of the Month: ‘Somewhere Beyond The Sea’ by TJ Klune
Since then, the staff and community have picked up one of his books. We have all enjoyed his writing, and now we have decided to read Somewhere Beyond the Sea for our NOVEMBER BOOK OF THE MONTH!

Maude Garrett isn’t a fan of horror. So we try to choose a spooky novel that has fantasy elements for October. Joe Hill has a different style than what we’re used to and he holds nothing back. The novel is dark, traumatic and sinister with a vampire who thinks he’s morally right with the decisions he makes for children.

The Archeron sisters have been interesting to follow the more Feyre interacts with them as a Fae. Nesta and Elain are vastly different, but they agree that remaining together is the best decision.
The sisters are all described beautifully in the book and the artistry in the fanart is nothing short of gorgeous.

The three characters who stood out in this sequel are the “BatBoys.” They are pure Night Court Royalty. If you’ve been a fan of Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel, the three combined are lethal.
